Sony’s David Reeves gelooft dat de Xbox 360 sinds de lancering van Grand Theft Auto IV achteruit is gevallen en denkt dat zij blijven proberen om diens strategie, om alleen maar meer exclusives bij third party developers weg te plukken, zullen continueren. Daarnaast zal het concern die titels ook flink gaan promoten om zo de Xbox 360 boven water te houden. Reeves zegt dat zij daar niet al te veel naar omkijken. De verkoopcijfers van de PlayStation 3 zouden in de lift zijn en Microsoft weet verder niet al te veel te reageren hierop, met uitzondering van het aankopen van meer third party exclusives, zo lezen we via de website van Neogaf.
“I have to say it’s not top of mind – we don’t really think about it. We look at our numbers and we see our numbers growing. I think that Microsoft got some impetus from GTA IV. They got some impetus but they’ve fallen back since then, and I think they will continue along that strategy of trying to get exclusives from third parties and promote that. We anticipate that, but we still feel that we have our own IPs that we call our “landing lights” that people are just going to go for.”
