In een recent interview met Sony’s Phil Harrison is bekend gemaakt dat Sony nog lang niet klaar is met de PlayStation 2. Er zouden zelfs nog nieuwe controllers voor het platform gaan verschijnen. Harrison maakt dan ook duidelijk dat Sony de USB-poorten niet voor niets op de console heeft geplaatst. Een unieke ervaring kan dan ook meegemaakt worden met nieuwe besturingsmogelijkheden. Met wat voor controllers Sony precies zal gaan komen is niet duidelijk gemaakt.
The Sony executive continued of custom controllers for the PlayStation 2: “We’ve done that well, Buzz controllers, EyeToy, Singstar, but there are others as well coming. We’re by no means done with PS2. We can’t make enough PS2s at the moment, which is a fantastic situation to be in eight years into the lifecycle.”
