Konami heeft aangekondigd dat Usain Bolt, ‘s werelds snelste en meest bekroonde renbaan atleet, de nieuwste ambassadeur wordt van PES 2018. Daarnaast zal iedereen die PES 2018 reserveert vóór 14 september 2017 Bolt als in-game speler activeren, exclusief voor myClub.
Usain Bolt is een atletieklegende die ook nog eens huidig wereldkampioen is op de 100 meter, 200 meter, en 4x 100 meter estafette. Al sinds zijn entree in de atletiekwereld is Bolt een onstuitbare kracht die meerdere malen is bekroond met medailles. Ook zijn overwinningshouding ‘to di world’ (To The World) is iconisch geworden in de sport. Konami heeft Bolt in een realistische setting gescand door middel van motion-capture en face-scanning systemen, van zijn manier van rennen tot zijn waanzinnige tempo.
De Jamaicaanse atleet is groot voetbalfan en succesvolle speler, daarnaast is Usain Bolt al jaren fan van PES zoals hij zelf zegt: “I love football and have played PES for as long as I can remember – it’s the best football game there is – and it’s a great honour to be a part of it and its success. When the opportunity arose to be a player in PES 2018, it was too good to be true. Having my face and movements scanned for use in the game was a fascinating process and I hope those who pre-order the game make full use of my pace and skill!”.
