1. Once you’ve installed and started up DC++ press the Settings icon. This will bring you the following windows:

2. Fill in your nickname in field (1).
3. Fill in your E-Mail in field (2).
4. Fill in your description in field (3) including the NC tag! For the current tag look in the readme first thread, the tag is not
as shown in the picture. 5. Choose your connection in (4). Don’t lie about your connection speed! In time we will notice..
6. Connection Settings. This could be a bit tricky and need to be explained a bit. If you are _not_ using any firewalls, routers and are not on a shared internet connection you should run DC++ in Active mode. If you are using firewalls-routers or are on shared internet connection you can run DC++ in Active mode, BUT you will need to forward your direct connect port (default 412) to your local machine. You will also need to report your global IP in (5). But if you don’t want to mess with your firewall or router you can choose to run DC++ in Passive mode. But keep in mind, you can’t make direct connection with other users that are in Passive mode!
7. Press the Download tab.

8. Choose your download directory in field (6). This is where all your downloads will be placed.
9. In field (7) you can enter a download speed limit. 0 means max download speed. I have this on 0.
10. Click the Sharing tab.

11. Now click the Add folder button (

12. Mark your share directory/directories and press OK. Your total share is displayed at (9). Be sure to have at least 3 GB.
13. Next thing to do is to enter how many upload slots you want to have opened. Remember that minimum slots is 2, but you are free to have more slots opened. With slots we mean how many people that can download from you at the same time.
14. Press OK. Now you are ready to connect to hubs!

15. Press the Connect icon showed above, and you will get the following window:

16. (11) shows all the hubs that have been registered to the Direct Connect community. If you want to connect to one of these hub, mark a hub, then press the Connect button (12).
17. You can also Connect manually to a hub, without needing to find it in the list. But this require that you know the correct address. Lets say that you want to connect to the NerveCenter Hub, which i hope you want, enter virtualnc.myvnc.com in field (13), and press the Connect button (12). You will now be connected to the hub. The following hub window will appear:

Explanation about the hub window:
(14): This is the Main Chat window. All your write here is showed to everyone connected to the hub.
(15): This is the Userlist. If you right-click any users you will show a menu like this:

Note that field (18) is an Operator menu, and will not be displayed for regular users.
Press Get file list to browse the selected user file list.
Press Send private message to send a PM to the selected user.
Press Grant extra slot if you want to grant the selected user an extra slot.
Press Add to Favorites to add the selected user to your favorite user list.
(16): This is the Chat field. If you enter something here and press Enter, your message will be displayed in (14). Everyone can see this!
(17): This is the Status bar. Here you can see how many users that are connected to this hub, and also the total share of this hub.
Something about the search feature.
Direct Connect have a great feature called search. Alot of people ask in the main chat if they are looking for something. But its so much simplier to just search for the file.
PLEASE USE THE SEARCH!!!
This is how you search in a hub:

A. Press the Spyglass icon showed above. This will bring up this window:

B. In (19) you enter your Search word.
C. In (20) you specify file size. Leave blank to search for any filesize.
D. Check (21) to only search for files that can be downloaded directly without waiting on a slot.
E. Press the Search button (22) to search. Its that simple!
F. Your Search result will be displayed at (23).
G. Finally right-click on the file you want to download, and either choose Download file, or Get file list.

I’m asuming that you know have atleast read the Getting Started tutorial (written by Thur) first

2. Asuming you don’t have an entry for the NerveCenter hub yet, click the New…-button
3. Fill in a name for the entry, for example: NerveCenter
4. Fill in the address of the hub, which is: virtualnc.myvnc.com
5. Fill in the nick I provided you for your account, which basicly is your username here on the board.
6. Fill in your password I sent you back with your username.
7. If you want a description in the hub (recommended), please also fill in the lowest description field, for example: Games / Apps.
You can also set this description to nothing (not the word, but the meaning), so you can use the description option of the settings menu.
8. After you made sure you filled in everything correctly, press the OK-button.
9. If you want to auto-connect to the hub every time you start up DC++, you should tick the checkbox in front of the new entry you just made.

2. Connect to the hub, you’ll be asked for a password.
3. Provide the password and hit OK.
NMDC can’t save the password in the preferences orso, so you’ll need to provide it each time you connect.

Deel gewoon al je geinstalleerde spellen en overige (niet persoonlijke zooi) dan zul je daar toch wel aanzitten
