Blizzard topman Mike Morhaime gaf in een interview met Eurogamer te kennen dat hij wel perspectief ziet in een eventuele verfilming van World of Warcraft. Tegenwoordig is het blijkbaar nogal in om games te verfilmen, Dungeon Siege, Alone in the Dark en Halo zijn ook dergelijke films die al verfilmd zijn of die nog zullen gaan komen. De topman van Blizzard zijn het volgende:
“I would love for us to release feature-length films in each of the worlds. I think that the universes are rich and strong enough to support that kind of thing, and it’d enhance the connection that players have with the game. I think World of Warcraft has opened a lot of doors for us, being so popular and having such a large community. And I hope that we’ll able to see something happen in the next five years.”
