Op 12 juli (2e dinsdag van juli) zal Microsoft enkele kritieke updates gaan lanceren voor Windows en Office. Het zou gaan op 2 updates voor het besturingssysteem en een voor het Office pakket, deze zouden enkele lekken moeten dichten. Afgelopen maand gaf Microsoft maar liefst 10 updates voor hun software waaronder updates voor de webbrowser Internet Explorer, op de website vonden we het volgende bericht dat duidelijk maakt dat naast de updates nog meer aangeboden zal worden (Malicious Software Removal Tool):
On 12 July 2005 Microsoft is planning to release:
Security Updates
• 2 Microsoft Security Bulletins affecting Microsoft Windows. The greatest aggregate, maximum severity rating for these bulletin is Critical. Some of these updates will require a restart. These updates will be detectable using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA).
• 1 Microsoft Security Bulletin affecting Microsoft Office. The greatest aggregate, maximum severity rating for this bulletin is Critical. These updates may require a restart. These updates will be detectable using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA).
Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
• Microsoft will release an updated version of the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool on Windows Update, Microsoft Update, Windows Server Update Services and the Download Center.
Note that this tool will NOT be distributed using Software Update Services (SUS).
