The Simpsons zijn erg populair op TV maar hebben nog geen bekende naam gekregen in de gamesindustrie. Tijd dus om weer wat populariteit wat dat betreft te vergaren. Electronic Arts is dan ook bezig met een next-gen titel voor de Simpsons. EA heeft inmiddels al een deal weten te sluiten met 20th Century Fox Television en Gracie films.
Under the deal, EA gets rights to develop multiple titles based on the TV show and it’ll work closely with The Simpsons writers, Gracie Films and the Fox television studio’s Licensing and Merchandising division on projects.
Little has been said about the first next-gen The Simpsons game to emerge from the deal other than that development of this – and in fact all titles – will be handled by EA’s Redwood Shores Studio, responsible for From Russia With Love, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06, The Lord of The Rings: Tactics, The Godfather and The Sims games.
