Zojuist zijn de langverwachte Poolse tanks aan World of Tanks toegevoegd. Zij zijn hiermee de 11e natie die de game rijk is. Naast de Poolse kracht en glorie is er ook een nieuwe Minsk map toegevoegd als hommage aan de World of Tanks origine en, op aanvraag van de community, in-game muziek van de band Studzianki.
“World of Tanks has a big and dedicated following in Poland so to reward their loyalty, we have added this regional content.” aldus Max Chuvalov, Publishing Director of World of Tanks. “So we are excited to release both Polish tanks and a map simultaneously. We did a lot of research to make the tree truly Polish and genuine, while incorporating interesting and unique gameplay.”
De World of Tanks Audio Team heeft ook niet stil gezeten, die heeft samen met de Poolse volks band Żywiołak een authentieke soundtrack gemaakt. Het is een cover van het Poolse volkslied “W moim ogródecku” (“In mijn tuin”) met een extra symfonisch geluid.
Als hommage aan de game is de Minsk map toegevoegd omdat het de locatie is waar het allemaal voor Wargaming begon en waar World of Tanks vandaag de dag nog ontwikkeld wordt.
“The Minsk map we recreated is from the 1970s. 90% of it is unique content: every building or monument has been created from scratch and aimed at depicting the city as realistically as possible.” aldus Max. “I am from Minsk and it’s a very special moment for myself, those who hail from Minsk and the entire World of Tanks development team.”
