Reggie Fils-Aime, VP van marketing en verkoop bij Nintendo Amerika, heeft bekend gemaakt dat het niet mogelijk is de GameCube controller te gebruiken voor Revolution games. Andersom zal het wel deels mogelijk zijn. Zo zullen games als Resident Evil 4 en The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess zo gemaakt worden dat deze speelbaar zijn met de afstandsbediening van de Nintendo Revolution.
After a brief talk with Nintendo VP Reggie Fils-Aime at DICE, Game Informer Online has discovered the answer is no. The Revolution’s planned use of an outer shell casing for the remote is expected to fill the void for more traditional gaming. Though we haven’t really seen this shell casing, the concept seems like it would be a lot more cumbersome than just using a Cube controller. I guess Nintendo didn’t like the idea of people having this shiny new system and using crusty old controllers with shiny new games. Well, at least we can still use Cube controllers with classics like Super Smash Bros., Resident Evil 4, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on Nintendo’s next-gen entry.
